Damn. I could have justified a 540 at that price...

Anything I buy is going to be machined and rebalanced to perfection so it does not really matter, I would never just install a crank and rods, my machinist pits clearances where I want them and such, I don't trust anything out of the box.

what size rods are in this motor?? 6.??? also some machinest will take off a little in that spot when ballancing the assy but it does look like it taped the crank's counter weight.. does it show a sign of it being internally balanced? small harmonic ballancer and no weight on the flywheel..

6.385, I think internal balanced... I thought all the 540's were? I am a Ford guy besides boat, bear with me lol

Lol, well what will you machine if it comes out of the box correct?

Balancing... Dude I am not an idiot, I think I show that here...I don't know it all, but not dumb by far, I make sure things are perfect when I have my stuff done and build it.

I'm not implying that you're dumb. Just trying to stimulate the mind for a little thought exercise, rather than the blanket 'I always do xxxxx' mindset.

Sorry, just being an engineer.

Just remember, which apparently the last builder forgot, the rings are file fit, not the rods. LOL.

Just sayin...

Shouldn't the comma be after "job"?
