You know damn well that if you use those rods (whether they are good or not) There is going to be that voice of doubt in the back of your head and that cringe in your stomach everytime you grab a handfull of throttle.

Thats not how you want to roll. Your like me and you like to push it and run it hard. To do that you have to have complete trust and faith in your equipment.
Well considering the rod failed because of the bearing spinning I will say the rods will be fine for my application, yes there may be better out there, just making sure these are not junk, had 4 people 2 here and 2 elsewhere say they are fine for my application.. I wanna keep parts matching in the engines..

From what I have read he doesn't go out for a day cruise , If the throttles aren't pinned there's no Grin.

Sounds like he got some hard hours out of a previous doubtful build he didn't have anything to do with so maybe if it is speced and put together right this time it will live a little longer.
exactly my goal, I had doubts about them lasting long term when I looked them over when doing the transplant, I did not want to get into full rebuilds last June so I fixed a few things I knew would kill them and ran them till now, cant really complain as I do beat the tar out of it, it's not a Sea Ray lol so many of my buddys just putt their offshores around... not me... lol

I'd bet the house you had an oiling failure an things went south from there.
not sure oil pressure and temps were in spec, I watch gauges more then anything under a hard run like I was doing.... 70 spi and 200 degree temps... My machinist (Victory Engines) says he thinks rod bolt led to it... but yes oiling was addressed last summer they had on ly 55 psi wot and 260+ temps...until we fixed that

Trust me with my buddy Lake Effect every single last detail be addressed...he is a very good and smart person with BBC engines, and extremely anal about double and triple checking things...

Eddie
Oh Eddie you are not making me feel good about whats in my motors, I don`t understand why people don`t go with the 2000 bolt , its only a few bucks more.
