We've lost another one too soon. RIP Carey Downs. :(

Marsha, Jeremie's wife posted this on FB:
Marsha worked at the original Pier57 as well. As you can see, Jeremie and Carey were very tight.
At a poker run earlier this year, Carey and I were drinking and chatting way into the early morning. He told me of how his parents would literally drop him off at Pier57, and he would spend day after day there; because he loved the place so much. Eventually David Woods started paying him, and he basically learned every role in the place.
I have to imagine this loss is EXTREMELY difficult for David as well, probably like loosing a son, and another member of his family, Jeremie, since that whole group is so tight.
With that, my condolences to David as well.
He lived a life that many of us would have yearned to have had. I can't remember a South Florida boat show or FPC event without Carey there. Every one of those events in the future will be a bit darker without him; albeit you know he's going to be there in spirit.
Jeremie was 40. He and his wife have two sons.
Carey was 39. He had a boy and a girl.

R.I.P. Carey & Jeremie
We hope you find Heaven well stocked with fish and high octane fuel.
These two were the life of any day. Always smiling always making you laugh. My heart is so broken for my boys and Daisy and Hudson. Their dads were so awesome and that's a rarity in this world. I have yet to sleep because of my broken heart. I'll never understand why but will always be grateful for what I had. My friendship with Carey has been forever and who ultimately is the one who introduced me to Jeremie the love of my life. Both of them are such a everyday part of my life that I'm not sure what tomorrow
will bring to me but emptiness. I do thank each and everyone of you for sharing your photos, your stories, your memories and your kind words during this time. I found my self last night reading thru all of these and realizing how blessed to have been a part of their lives that I was. I have found comfort in the fact I have a voicemail Jeremie left me on my phone where he tells me exactly how much he loves me. I will always play it to myself just to hear his voice but he also left me the greatest gift ever and that is to know what real love is and never take it for granted.

It's been a full day since I heard the news and I'm still at a loss for words. We lost 2 good men and for those that don't know, Jeremie is Marsha's husband. Carey and Marsha are the backbone of the Tennessee branch(original)of Pier 57. Both men had kids and I can't even imagine those kids waking up this morning knowing they lost their dads. Carey always had a big smile and something goofy to say to make you smile. They will be missed. RIP

Carey was always there to help out, hand me a beer or just make me laugh. The few nights I went out with him I knew going in that it was going to be late a blast and a story to tell. Regardless of wether I had not spoken to him in sometime I would always get a Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday text or call from him. Carey you will be missed. I will always continue to look for that Rolex you lost in Destin
RIP

My Fiance' grew up in Corinth , MS with these two and has a lot of stories of how great they were. As we looked together at old pictures in her high school days photo albums I too reflected on just how bad of a week it has been.
Boat safe everyone and enjoy life.
