Hearing from a VERY reliable source that Mercury OB's for 2015 will be as follows:

350 Verado moves into production offering complete w/ 5yr warranty.
NEW 400 Verado replaces the 350 & is offered thru Mercury Racing w/ whatever warranty the 350 has come w/ previously 1yr??
Both to be debuted in Miami.

Rebel you may want to drag your feet on your build & make sure you know what your options are bc sounds like they'll hit the public right as your boat is completed!!

Any idea what the 350 will require for fuel ?? I head the same thing

Damn I didn't ask that question but I'm thinking 87 bc I was told it was detuned. Not sure how you detune & still make same HP unless the new 350 maybe has a different power / torque band.

the current 300 verado is designed to run on 91 for max power but will run on 89 with a slight loss of power, the 350 verado from merc racing needs 91 octane or engine will fail,it would be nice if the new 350 would run on 89 safefully, only time will tell a 400 hp version sounds awesome but will probably need 91 unless the engineers did some serious work

Yep.

Wow. I called Merc racing and spoke with several people and they claim that nothing is going to happen. But I agree, if there is a chance I would like the latest within a reasonable price range. I was told that I had to order the 300s early because there was a backlog and it may hold up the order? True?

Not sure but I'll ask

Had a great visit to Ft Myers, got out on a triple 300, NT 340 Sport + toured the factory.

Here's what I heard, the NEW 350 is not the same as the current 350 offered thru Mercury Racing. Since it's supposedly a detuned engine the rumor is it may be called a 350 but maybe only make 330hp or so. There was ZERO confidence that this engine offering would be available after debuting in Miami (assuming that's Merc's plan) b/c this could result in Merc getting stock w/ a bunch of 300 inventory assuming most will opt for the extra ponies that now includes the same warranty.

Made sense to me, ultimately at the end of the day just speculation & water cooler talk!
