Transom...
Took this today, then lost the measurements... !!!
The horizontal measurnts are approx...the depth of the overhang is correct...can you fit 2 sx's in that 4'+ spread...?

you are talking about for outboards right? wouldn't you need just the centerline of each motor to line up with the strake at the 4' arrow end (or chine not sure of the correct term), the motors could be wider overall.

That's what I thought but was told then need to be a close as possible to the centerline...?

The bustle is very short on the SV29. Boat overall is 29' 11". The running surface is just under 29'. We spent a lot of time developing this boat and it shows in the way it runs as well as back to back World Championships.

As per the picture with the measurement above, the bustle is 18 inches. That would make the running surface 28.5 - the transom notch. So probably about 27.5 running surface

Hi,
When I rigged two Merc 2,5 EFI SS engines on my Phantom 25 I mounted them 19 inches center to center. Thats center from port engine to center to starbord engine. And ofcourse the centerline of the boat is in middle of this. The engines was mounted directly to the transom due to balance, and the propshaft height was approx 0,5 inches below the bottom. The boat is only 5,5 feet wide and have no notch.
Mercury normally reccommend centerline to centerline of 26 inches. Thats too wide in my opinion. As with staggered engines the main point is to get them as close as possible. I would aim for 22-24 inches if possible depending on engine (Xs or Verado). I will reccommend to use two hydraulic jackplates. This will allow for optimal propheight during cruise and top speed. And setback can be decided to get the balance right.
Mounting twins with a cut out bustle will be a cool sight indeed
