Hi

You are welcome 

I will use 20 inch legs too to get the center of gravity as low as possible. You do not want to have a flywheel rotating over your head 

The reason reccommending jackplates are that you will have the flexibility to find the sweetspot for the propheight and balance of the boat. Later on you can use a bracket of some kind of course. I love jackplates. Great to have in heavy seas and cruise, and just the little extra tweak to gain the important extra mph. Lots of good jackplates around with different setback and height adjustments. My Stainless Marine Gorilla has been flawless. Very very strong. Good responses on Bob HD ones too.

Cheers Toffen

Just been doing some measuring with the boat sitting level and a string line over the bustle it is approximately 3ft 2" to the start of the running surface making the hull length 26ft 9", the actual wetted running length at speed on smooth water is approximately 14ft.

Hi 575cat,
The vent tube has a hinged flap which is closed by an internal stainless steel spring, the outside of the cap is connected to the transom with a nylon cord as you trim in the cap progressively opens so you can always find the sweet spot for planing of in any sea conditions, once on plane with the drive in it's normal running trim the flap is completely closed i can then slow right down to 20mph without the boat falling of plane. It has the added advantage being angled in to the bustle that you don't send up a huge column of water when in reverse if you need to stick some revs on.
