Yes, have a thread in the Tech section, to see what IB has to say.

if using Mozilla go to the top right corner and click tab then disable cloudfar

innerrage 11-05-2014 01:04 PM

same here

offshoredrillin 11-05-2014 01:05 PM

its easy to disable on any of them, as it opens click the link and that page will open in another tab, then go to properties and disable it.

Gimme Fuel 11-05-2014 01:07 PM

Same message here. OSO was down until just before noon on both smartphone and computer.

On Time 11-05-2014 01:14 PM

me too on Explorer

SB 11-05-2014 01:35 PM

All of the above

+ a lot of the order of posts are screwed up - has been for the past week.

Chances are that if you quote someone, your post will be put over the post you quoted.

Brandonb_05 11-05-2014 01:36 PM

+1 on apple phone and apple computer, it also did it when i was changing pages on a post (''checking your browser this could take 5 seconds'')

phragle 11-05-2014 01:40 PM

How would disabling it on your computer do anything? It is a program run on IB's server. That would be like trying to take your tv remote and cllicking disable commercials.

And if you think complaining will do anything, remember the fiasco when the forum look was changed by IB????

Did IB care then??

Not showing up as add on / extension or plug in. Which tab exactly are you speaking about?

Found this:

But, I don't have an account with them?

offshoredrillin 11-05-2014 01:55 PM

Turns out I was wrong, it seems this is something IB has installed according to the net..

CloudFlare is not installed on your computer. It's something the owner of a website decides to enable on their website. So he's going to a website and the website he is visiting is using CloudFlare. It's not something that gets installed on your computer.

I get a "checking browser" screen that I've never seen before. Couple other things i noticed . . .

odd order that posts are getting displayed. Some quoted reply's are appearing before the quoted post

I have lost some auto-saved posts and could not be retrieved

on my tablet i have gotten an occasional popup (that may be my tabs issue)

the weird "checking "browser" screen, disappears after a few seconds

Alan4 is still a putz

Noticed the site was down earlier as well and now at logon getting the same message, just wondering if OSO got hacked? and if so hope everyone's account info is safe..... Had my paypal account hacked once before and it was no fun getting the funds back as I had to wait some time.

glassdave 11-05-2014 02:39 PM

ok now that posted twice after getting in the leave page loop  . . . :D

phragle 11-05-2014 03:01 PM

Obviously an "upgrade". Anytime you install an "update: you can be sure it will be slower and less stable. Bill Gates is the antichrist.

SpeedGirl 11-05-2014 04:27 PM

The site is behind a wall that protects it against the DDOS attack, that new main screen tests to see if you're OK or part of the problem. Until the attack subsides, it'll probably look like that for a while.

bck 11-06-2014 02:10 AM

How about constantly having phone redirected to playstore (android) and pop-up ads( on phone) coming up? It only happens on this site, I've never had it occur while browsing anywhere else.

j21black 11-06-2014 08:42 AM

Yesterday morning, it wouldn't even log in....

Now I get the checking browser screen and it logs in...

Over the weekend, I was getting all kinds of pop up trash when on OSO...It would redirect me....

I get that to every once in a while on my tablet, i believe its a mobile only issue. I think the security is way more lax with all the stuff we ok when loading yet another app, i would guess it is linked to something like that.

As these sites evolve and software gets updates and changes we go through these kinda things. Happened before and eventually it is a thing of the past. Been here a long time seen this stuff come an go :D

badmonkey 11-06-2014 10:42 AM

Can not upload photos nor can I reply to threads ??? Is there something I need to do to my computer ? HELP !!!

bck 11-06-2014 12:14 PM

Dave- I'd agree if it happened other places as well but it only ever happens on OSO. I'm pretty picky about the apps I have installed also, only have a few and they all get scanned.

Sydwayz 04-29-2015 11:36 AM

CloudFare is a tool OSO and many others use to protect against DDoS attacks. (Distributed Denial of Service)

Without going too far into the weeds, it's a tool to keep the riff-raff out; and the actual OSO members able to access the site.
DDoS is an attack type that Anonymous, and other hackers/evildoers/attackers use.

It's there for your protection, not annoyance. Don't worry about it.

Griff 04-29-2015 02:41 PM

I got a one of the failed log in attack notices last night emailed to me from OSO. Someone was trying to log in under my name.
The IP address they were using to try and log in from was from Bejing China.

It probably has something to do with that also.

SpeedGirl 04-29-2015 06:57 PM

Yes, OSO was under attack. IB put this software up as a precaution.

thisistank 04-29-2015 07:23 PM

Annoying. But I guess necessary
