So this will be the week after the PR? Sounds like you're going to have your hands full for the first part of Aug.!!!

Quick questions... Will the racing take place right in front of the marina, how big will the course be, and will spectator boats be aloud out there around the course?

I wish I had taken a pic of his course map Mike made for the meeting. The course run north and south between Borden Light and the marina. Its about 4 miles and runs under the Bragga bridge by the batttleship Massachusetts, down the a state park.

I have a picture of it. It looks like a tight squeeze through the bridge if boats are heading north and south at the same time.

SS930 OPA race event August 14-16th 2015, according to OPA schedule. Check the OPA web site.....jd it looks tight.... I'm thinking OPA may re-evaluate the course that was presented.

Fall River River Grand Prix OPA Race @ Borden Light Marina
Offshore powerboat racing is possibly the most dangerous and definitely one of the most exciting forms of motorsports racing available today. Watching these ocean going machines race around Mount Hope Bay is nothing short of mesmerizing as the boats fly from wave to wave at speeds approaching 200mph.

The City of Fall River looks forward to hosting its first OPA Race this August 14th – 16th. We welcome you to our marina and our city of great history and attractions.

The Marina will be open to the public on land for spectators to view launching and race. The docks and other facilities will be for members and guests only. This may be a stupid question, but does anyone have an idea of which boats are confirmed/showing up? I'm hoping to take a nice cruise down Sunday AM and find a spot. Im sure the bar at turn 1 will be packed. May be worth it to buy a couple tickets and watch from the battleship. Any suggestions?

Don't forget the Annual Cigarette Poker Run...this will be the 10th year for Borden Light Marina and the Tipsy Seagull next weekend Saturday August 13th.

Another great Fall River Grand Prix in the books last weekend. For the 3rd year Mike Lund and his staff and friends from Borden Light Marina put on a great event. The weather was stellar . We had a great time, as usual. Thank you all for having a race close to home and thanks to everyone else who came so we were not the only boat in the parking lot.
