Just stumbled across this. Wow so much positive input. This race will happen, problems with the coast guard in the past, had nothing to do with the race. Political thing in the area that has been solved. I met with Mike and Ernie, in Solomons. All is a go. Lots to do as it is a new site, But it will get done. As far as financial help from the City? Yea like any city opens its check book. Ha ha. Scarab 63 sour grapes. Keep plugin Ernie, we'll be up to see you guys in a few weeks. Don't let a few, who know nothing bother you. Smitty

Yeah, Smitty, Louie The Rigger and I made Mike and Ernie an offer they couldn't refuse! Gonna be a great race site with a bunch of great people. Oh, anyone needing info about OPA Racing and The Jersey Boyz, we have sites with all our phone numbers and e- mails on them. Thanks

I was just recalling the conversion we had about east Tawas Michigan and how opa didn't return on the second year because the town couldn't bolster the funds......remember, opa gave them a discounted rate on the first season as a sign of good faith of future races to come.......you told me that, or did you forget that too ?

Anyways, good luck with the race I'm sure it'll be great.
Mike

Jamie, this event is going to need the help of the whole boating group. At boating events, you and the two Mikes are the first to offer help to those in need. When you guys were forming a racing team, and held a fund raiser, we were there to support. We will need your help now. Thanks

Ernie I'm more than willing to help. Tell me what I can do. I posted a few questions here and my concerns that is feel the organizers will have a hard time with. No one answered a question other than it's all set.

We, from the upper northeast are thrilled to race close to home. We do a fair bit of travelling to get down south and west . And happy to do it btw. We are happy, just to have a place to go most of the time. But to have a race in our back yard is terrific. I have talked to Mike at Borden light Marina at length and he is enthusiastic to say the least. He knows I will do whatever he may need, if anything, in my own small way, to help pull this off as I'm sure Ernie and his crew of veteran racers will do also. My glass is always half full so I'm going on the assumption that, that is where We are racing in August. Good luck to all on putting this together.
