^ Yep, just walk up and down the strip and stop by the DJ boat to dance with some babes to dubstep. Everyone is friendly. The girls want to dance and the police presence is minimal. :)

Looks like lots of fun. I'd like to experience that sometime.

Riddle me this...is see people walking around in waist deep water. I see large boats with a deep draft. Where I come from one wouldn't dream of putting their boat in water that shallow for fear of tearing something up. How are these boats not damaging props or drives in 3' of water?

Raise the drive and walk them in.

Thought someone would say that. Rule number one with a stern drive is to not idle them in gear with drive trimmed high.

What's the other option?

. Youtube jobbienooner. It is the last weekend of June. Same lake and even bigger then Raft Off, only downside is the weather can be a little iffy sometimes.

First off, you have to be careful getting in the Bay. Then when you are ready to head over to the group you idle slowly with drive raised (not all the way) and when it is shallow enough you cut the engine and get in the water and walk the boat in. The bottom is all sand, barefoot friendly and also forgiving if the drive does bump the bottom at idle. In the video you can see the way into the bay. Don't follow the charts! Follow bigger boats! :)

JN may have more people but not even close to the amount of boats. That has turned into amatuer hour the last 6-7 years. It is no longer a " boater" event. Any Jackwagon that can find his/her way out there goes. Just by the amount of Police , Sheriff , and Coast Gaurd presence tells you the caliber of the people it attracts :(
