[QUOTE=4bus;4229469Road side sobriety tests are not mandatory, no one ever passes and you do not have to take them. A road side Breathalyzer is also just there to incriminate you, the real one (and the only one that counts) is at the station. Don't do the road side Olympics, don't blow in a hand held.....don't tell them you had 2!!!

If I'm correct refusing the roadside Breathalyzer test in Michigan gets you arrested and taken to a local hospital for a blood draw.

While I have been pulled over or boarded a couple of times coming back into the CT River (once or twice by the CG with 10 to 20 clowns holding guns and an asshat at the 50 cal machine gun mounted on the bow!) and inside Long Island leaving a popular bar, but by far the most harassment I've encountered is at the ramp coming in. In 2013 EVERY SINGLE TIME I came into the ramp with the 46 Cig I had them strut over for a "safety inspection". This happened without exception with my boat at the OS boat ramp in 2013. I dont recall dealing with it on anyone else's boat that season, but mine was a big target last year! Talk about profiling... I don't know if they received too many complaints or if they were just down on funding for 2014, but it only happen once this season. I'm hoping I get the "safety check" even less next season...

I have no problem being stopped for reasonable cause, but when they pull you over for absolutely no reason,10 to 20 of them on-board just hoping they have found a drunk driver, with just about everyone of them holding a rifle and an ASSHAT pointing a large cal machine gun at you... I'm sorry but that is just absolute BS! I'm a firm supporter of these guys in safety and law enforcement, until they start harassing, endangering, and/or threatening people. At that point the guy is (at a minimum) an ASSHAT!

I have been boating in the Sebago region for about 6 years now. Everything from kayaks to ski boats to the Sonic.
I've gotten stopped two times. The first was in a ski boat waiting for a lock to open, and all they wanted to see was that I had all my gear. The second was when I forgot to register the boat, and they let me go back to the house and find it because I was sure I registered it

I wasn;t successfully pulled over this season.... Though I was told that at BT, leaving the harbor springs card stop they lit me up at the end of the no wake zone. I never saw them, layed the throttle on the dash at the bouy, Was later told they chased for a mile and gave up.
I think they need a bigger faster boat.

I keep my boat slipped on Clinton Lake. Never been pulled over in 17 + years. The DNR has had more of a presence recently. I see a few boats pulled over on the lake over the course of a weekend but by far you see more people getting cuffed at the ramps where they wait to give you a "safety inspection" as you are pulling the boat.
Sold the boat and moving out this state hopefully. Can't stand the idea of giving them any more money.
