The only V bottom that could give these cats a hard time [ 122 mph] would be the Howard 28 Bullit with huge power in calm water.http://www.howardboats.com/boat_spec...28_bullet.html
I think the 30 Spectre is the best bang for the money and relatively cheap, buying used.

If money was no object, the 32 DW would be my choice.

Spectre only thanks so much for your input excellent recommendations. I've been looking at cats prior to purchasing my Progression which I truly love. Going cat I thought would have been my next boat however the Progression popped up and met my performance and economic needs so I pulled the trigger. As a relative newbie to performance boating compared to you guys I'm still constantly looking for advice from those that have come before me and although I've run into a lot of bad characters I've met more solid guys just trying to have fun and share there love of the sport and I execpt your comment in that vain..... I'll be perfecting the Progression till I find the perfect cat but I've pretty much narrowed down my search unfortunately I had a bad experience with my number one choices sales staff so I made a business decision to no longer consider Skater unfortunately especially with how much I like there product. So if anyone knows of a pristine used Doug Wright 32' out board with or without power send them my way or a Victory? Until then I'm just having a absolute ball running my pretty but slow in the cat world 27' Progression and trying to learn as much as I can from you seasoned vets. spectras only what would you say a pristine used 32' Doug Wright hull cost these days?

you likely will not find many used/prisitne DW's for sale but there's one guy who's as enthusiastic about Doug Wright boats as you're about Progressions, lol. He would sell his pristine used DW for the right price though, You can see his and read about it here.

Omni, like the way your Progression runs, great looking rig. To get that boat to run well in the rough with the current setup you would need to run a water ballast tank. That would allow you to take on ballast when needed but loose it when running in the flat. Either that or lose some setback which would certainly cost you speed in the flat.

Hi!

I have a 30 gallon water ballast tank in my boat. You use a manual waterpickup to fill it, and a return tube. Its very efficient.

When I am looking to my boat I will take some pictures.

You're... accept... their... choice's

I'll stop messing with you now, but my assessment remains unchanged. Keep advancing the sport and stay crazy competitive. Merry Christmas!
