Congrats! Looks Amazing! Hopefully I will be healed up in time to make it to Jacksonville to see it and run with you. Fingers crossed!

Can't say I've seen that style seat before. Ultimately my options were limited to the configurations Nor-Tech offers and that is not one of them. |

Ready for Assembly!
Broward trailer fabrication and welding complete.
Entire trailer has been prepped & will receive a coat of Sharkhide Metal Protection. Sharkhide is money well spent IMO, have applied to my past 2 trailers and they maintain that like new look even after being in saltwater. About $150 in product, Broward is applying it for me. PS- see skid channel in last pic that ties the forward crossmembers together. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...fc91ffec2f.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...99e4df884a.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...a779a8d05d.jpg |
My Broward Trailer is complete & delivers tomorrow.
Looking forward to seeing the finish product and the 700mi tow home. Check out the before / after pics and the attention to detail Broward invested in smoothing out the welds on the taillight cross member. Clearly Broward takes pride in their finished product and they are willing to go the extra mile. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...a41241642f.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...9c770b8e7f.jpg |
Very nice. Glad I never trailer anymore. But if I did, I'd be following your lead.

Trailer Complete, liking what I’m seeing so far. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...84902ebe1.jpeg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...362be880d.jpeg |
The 700+ mile tow home will tell me whether or not this was a good investment or not. Based on what I’ve been told by others there should be a noticeable improvement in ride quality. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...9f4c94e8d.jpeg |

Very clean!!
I agree, although I will be doing more fishing and sandbar getting in/out of the water, the club sport cushions can still pop off and be used as a flat landing point. I too would enjoy the added comfort with additional seating and aesthetic component of it. I am not going with the second row seating so, I chose the club sport to maximize my aft seating as much as possible. That middle drop is available on the 450, but they would likely have to cut the mold to do that on the 340/390, and Nor-tech is not very willing to cut the their mold. I wanted a recessed bow table, and after countless conversations with Trond...it's not going to happen. Price range on the Broward compared to EVO/Myco?? |

Price range on the Broward compared to EVO/Myco?? IMO you should be able to buy a trailer for your boat from any of the 3 you mentioned for within $1000-$1500 of each other BUT that doesn't mean you will receive the same trailer, the same axle capacity, or the same fit and finish. Make sure you provide the specs when shopping a trailer as well as make sure you are comparing apples to apples. One has to be careful not to just shop price when it comes to entrusting in a trailer for their boat. My boat cost nearly 25x what my trailer does so I don't want to cheap out on the piece my boat rests on and or travels on 365 days/yr other than when it's in the water. |
Boating (and trailering) season is just about here in New England. I have one of their drop hitches and think they are great products. Curious what the verdict was on this.

DamDonzi- I would recommend the GenY Torsion Hitch to anyone that asked me about it and was interested.
One must keep their individual application in mind but I enjoyed a much improved 800+ mile tow w/ my 16,000lb boat / trailer combo. I bought mine from Fred Keuber out of SC, only one I know that discounts them. 864-650-8929 |
Thank you and great to hear. Congratulations on another fantastic build and hope you enjoy the hell out of it! |
Boat & trailer officially completed last week. Took advantage of the long weekend to fetch them.
The completion of this build has been a long time coming nearly 2x the time its taken to build the 34's. With that said I can say w/ confidence it has been well worth the wait. I'd been told how I'd really appreciate the ride quality of the 390 vs the 340. Having run the boat 3x on the Gulf Coast including 20mph winds this past weekend, I can attest to the fact that the extra 5ft of the 390 results in a noticeable ride improvement in all conditions. The fit and finish on the boat and the trailer are nothing short of first class. Having owned 5 different boat trailers over the years varying from bolt together to welded, steel & aluminum, bar none this Broward Trailer trumps them all including any friends trailers I may have towed. Now that this build has concluded, I'd like to acknowledge & extend a special thank you to all those that contributed to what was once a dream because they absolutely helped make it into a reality. I'm extremely pleased w/ the finished product, the fit, finish and performance of both the boat and the trailer. Looks Great NasCat! have you measured the clearance on the trailer? I measured your last 340 at John’s shop, was about 11’8” Curious if there is a difference with the 390 and Broward combo. |

Yes I measured on the lot & measure right about 11' 8" but I round up to 12'. We were measuring the front of the top where the spot light is but the antenna mounts are actually higher. 12' is a good #. I know Mark @ Broward took everything into consideration as it relates to the bunk upright supports and the torsion axles in order to keep me at the same low center of gravity & overall height. I forgot to get an in water measurement but my guess is it will be approx 9'. |
Thanks for the kind words buddy! Be in touch soon! Having seen this boat in person it is really nice ride. As you all know Michael’s projects are nothing short of amazing! Enjoy the boat my friend and hope to make up to NC later this summer |
Nice!

Looks awesome!! And I really enjoyed reading the info on the trailer build.

Class act all the way around, boat, trailer, and posts. Congrats!

Killer setup Nascat! Congrats on yet another awesome boat. Guess this means its just about time to start the next build. Can anyone say...450 Sport?

To All
As always I am humbled by the many positive comments this thread has received, Thank You! DoubleRigged- Ron- I'm simply giving credit, where credit is due. You have been involved w/ all 3 builds and I am very fortunate to have had the sales, service & tech expertise you & your Electronics Unlimited Team provided. BobbyB- You may find some additional info on the trailer build in the Trucks / Trailers forum within the Welcome Broward Trailers thread. jadento- you cracked me up, building a Nor-Tech 450 would require a substantial PowerBall payout |
Michael, you are definitely a class act sir. It's folks like you that make me proud to be a part of our hobby/sport.
Congratulations again on a fantastic boat. Hope to see it in person at some point. Kelly |
Over the years, I've learned allot from many of the other OSO members and their informative threads.
This has been my way of giving back or at least it has always bee my intention. I have to be honest that it feels awkward at times b/c if taken out of context my threads could be viewed as me beating my own chest, which couldn't be further from the truth. In addition to my wanting to give back I think my NASCAR career interacting w/ thousands of fans over the years, their many questions and desire to get an inside glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes also inspires me to share openly w/ others. If I had a $1 for every time a fan asked how do they get the lug nuts to stay on the wheels or what does the driver do if he has to go to the bathroom I'd already have a NT 450 LOL! I never get annoyed answering the same questions over and over or giving a tour etc b/c I know that ultimately I'm no different than the NASCAR race fan any time I go to the boat show, the boat dealer and or the boat manufacturing plant. I have sensory overload & I have lots of questions. Hope this makes sense. |

2 Attachment(s)
Nor-Tech offers a power sunshade that extends off the rear of the hardtop. It's very nice but also very $$$$.
I'm sourcing all the components to build something similar to this for both the bow & stern of my boat. I knew I wanted a sunshade when the boat was in production so I had 4 combo cup / rod holders installed to accommodate the future project. I spent a good bit of time walking the docks at Fort Lauderdale in search of the Carbon Pole manufactures. Blackstick & SeaSmart seemed to be the most popular not to mention the most $$$. That said it's a drop in the bucket in comparison to the cost of a mult-million $$ yacht. Cost aside (approx $550/ pr) both offer a very nice collapsible pole setup. I've elected to source and build my own and believe I can do both the bow & stern for about half, Scarab gets $1800 for the option pictured below. Attachment 576349 https://seasmart.it/en/catalogo/prod...m/1/index.aspx I use a local vendor to build my boat cover, so they will provide the Sunbrella sunshade material & rings & clasps. I have about $530 in the 4- CF poles, the para cord & quick cleats. My poles aren't collapsible but that's b/c I have space to store them full length. Pics to follow once complete (mid May) https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...8bcc476dfd.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...b635bb7352.jpg |
I like that a lot.
|
I've been looking to do the same thing on the back of my boat with the sunshade.
|
Sweet! Got a buddy that will take delivery of a new 39 in May and I asked if he got the rear power sunshade option and he said NFW it was stupid expensive. Nice to see a lower cost alternative being devised by owners where it actually looks like it belongs. I can see some 48/88 flags flying off those poles as well!

My combo cup / rod holders have a 1.560" id so 1-3/8" od tube fits in them good w/o being so snug. The carbon tubes are 72" long, so I will cut them to length. I scored them for $120ea on a closeout. The rest of the items I snagged off Amazon but I'm sure there are other options. I believe the SureShade option goes for about $10k before discount https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...737efca718.jpg & is only available to extend from the rear of the top. Not sure you'll ever see any racing flags flying off my carbon poles, just an American or Bahamian flag when appropriate https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...7b96f28b3e.jpg |
Working closely w/ both Broward Trailers and the folks at Gen Y I opted to go w/ a Channel Mount Torsion Assy that mounts to the front of my trailer vs the typical receiver style.
Because the torsion mechanism is rather long it was creating too much leverage on my rear axle (center of the ball was setback 15" from the square receiver opening) Going this route has allowed me to utilize a more typical ball mount which is only 6" to the center of the ball, reducing the leverage by 9" I still enjoy the benefits of the torsion mechanism it just happens to be attached to my trailer. Keep in mind both the receiver style & the channel mount weigh between 90-100lbs. My back has thanked me in advance for not having to remove and install the torsion hitch repeatedly.:lolhit: I realize that the option I selected no longer allows me to enjoy the torsion cushioned towing anything else but my boat but to be honest my boat is the only thing I tow so no real loss there. Headed to JAX PR today so we'll see how the package performs. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...992f45da25.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...2ac8f9deac.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...bb3ead5934.jpg |
Seems like a fantastic idea. Enjoy your trip
|
Great set up and that boat is just perfect!
Enjoy the Jax run as well! |
Thanks Gentlemen, keep in mind that if my Broward Trailer didn't have the flat nose and plate setup which allows the versatility to go several directions this would not have been an option for me.
Not many trailer built like this. Very pleased w/ the fact that Broward does. |
I like that much better than the torsion hitch. I was concerned about the leverage issue from the onset.

Cover is just a stationary rain and dust cover, not towable. The SunShades required a bit of planning while the boat was being built in order to locate the combo cup/rod holders not to mention make sure they are oriented correctly. The rest was pretty simple. I chose to use Carbon Fiber tubing for the poles based on the "cool factor" but not necessary so the setup can be accomplised for less. |
Very nice!
