Pic from this afternoon.
Next in line to enter the rigging area. Thinking about a trip down to N. Fort Myers during the rigging. Believe it or not the riggers actually appreciate owners who take a sincere interest the completion of their boat and the attention to detail those guys put into the finished product. Jk, I know you appreciate how good they are at their jobs. |
You get a certain # of questions allowance w/o penalty. It's sort of a complicated formula based on the length of the boat, # of engines and H.P. :drink:
You never want to exceed that allowance, each question overage pushes your boats completion back 1 day. On a more serious note I have been getting a good ribbing from Mr. Sobo. Since Nor-Tech is a semi custom boat builder not everything is on the build sheet. Sometimes it's easier to use pictures or examples of things one wants incorporated into their boat build. I made 3 copies of a submittal type booklet that is comprised of pictures from my previous NT, other NT's and or anything that I thought would assist the riggers w/ style, location etc. I have a copy as does Terry & Sportboats so we can always refer to it in conversations. Terry and I were speaking last week and when I referenced my picture book he responded "Oh You Mean Your How To Build A Boat Guide". I was like Real Nice, I try to do something to help them be successful and eliminate mistakes / rework & now I'm being made fun of. It's ok many like to poke fun at my attention to detail ways but once they've had a taste, love em or hate them they come to appreciate that level of detail even more when they deal w/ the next customer who may not be quite as buttoned up! That's when I smile biggest.:grinser010: |

Not to mention you may actually get the boat they way you want it and not the way someone else thinks it should be! What a concept.........

It's also the reason I invest in trips to NT during the build process, $500+ every time I go which would fill the gas tank BUT I think it pays big dividends in the end. |

That's the 1st thought that came to my head when I read Greg's Post, I was just too lazy to dig up the pic and attach.

I think I'm going to ask Mr Sobo to BCC me on your emails and his replies. I need more humor in my days. :picard1:
