From what I have been told, the cars are very clean and well taken care of on the outside. They couldn't replace them so they had to be taken care of...

As for as the internals go, you may be correct...

Some will remember this thread when I took Team PREDATOR to Havana in 2009. http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/g...vana-cuba.html It was an incredible experience that I won't soon forget. Like a step back in time. We we were fortunate to be able to do it.

My very last words in post # 174 of that KW - Havana thread " I won't be back tho till it opens up …. and it will."

i love a really good cigar, several Cubans have told me that all of the great cigar experts have left Cuba and they are no better than others. I don't know if that is true but we should find out soon. Cuban cigars are not hard to find in Miami.

The cars are nothing special. 98 percent of the vintage cars are 4 doors because they want them big because they are used as private Taxis with 8 people to a car. Also most of those are patched up bodies with unoriginal parts to make due with all these years .
Not to mention all the transplanted Russian Diesels that now reside in them

Coolest cars I saw over there were the Corvairs with a russian diesel in the front where the trunk used to be

Besides once their people see what capitalism is like how long you think their current system will last?

Oh they know what Capitalism is over there, Their free market over there is called the Black market over here.

The Communist government jobs are a front that you actually work.

Like the old saying goes over there. Castro pretends to pay us and we pretend to work.

A lot of Virgin Reefs over there . You would have died laughing seeing the Dive boat that runs out of Marina Hemingway.

Awesome Cave diving too.
