Chad, You always refer to the 12 month boating season in California. I did the Pittsburg to San Francisco run with Rick Bowling in his Gone Again Talon last saturday. It was a nice ride but only because it has a canopy. My boat would have been a cold ride. Southern Caifornia maybe, northern, not so much. The 3 dollars for premium made for a $450 dollar burger rather than a $750 burger at $5 gas. Should be a great summer. Doug

Since you were saving $$$ Doug, did you have mushrooms on the burger? "Happy New year"

^^^Agreed. And really, for most of us - what percentage of the yearly boating expenditure is gas? A small amount, compared to maintenance costs, insurance costs, 'oh s**t, I broke...' costs, marina costs, etc.

Depends on the type of boating you do, and how lucky you are! LOL

For many years, I was lucky enough to spend very little money on broken parts. So, gas for the truck and boat was the most expensive part of boating. As someone else said, 1/2 price gas means boating more often and/or traveling further on the boat. Of course that is dependent on what breaks!

Why is gas on the water so much more if your getting the same fuel as you are on land ?

Or we could see a resurgence of new boats ordered?

if the price of gas is the determining factor in whether or not you can afford to go boating or buy a boat then you can't afford a boat.
