Yes and Mike will be a rescue diver. And we will not stop the race for an accident on the course. Unless Angel 1 deems it necessary to stop the race just like it has always been And if you don't like it go race somewhere else. But wait every one that races with SBI already knows that. So those people that say we should do this and we should do that. You have no clue of what goes on during a race. So your BS options really don't matter. Keep on saying how bad Carbonell is. While we keep on putting on races. 500 plus races and still counting.
B. Now you stop races if Angel 1 says so but didn't you say you never stop races in prior posts?
C. Never said Carbonell was bad, but you did......hmmmm Freudian slip there?
D. You brag about the amount of races when people have died because of incompetence?......ABSOLUTELY IGNORANT!

If 3 divers were in the water ( 1 from the helo) and a racer(s) with critical injuries was being rushed to shore on a medical boat would you stop the race?

whatever happened with the the two guys who cut out their roll cage and overpowered the old dirty duck boat?

Accidents in racing will always happen. What we need to do now is take a hard look at the safety procedures of all race organizations and see if and how they can be improved.
Pointing fingers and assessing blame is the lawyers job especially when most of the finger pointing is done by people who don't know all the facts.. The best way to now move forward is to try to learn from this tragic accident and the others that have occurred, realizing they could happen again and do our best to minimize the risks.

B: If you would read my post or if you raced. You would know that we have ALWAYS had the the option to stop a race if ANGEL 1 deem it necessary. As of yet THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED!!!! We have never had to stop a race.
I think Bob Morgan might have disagreed with that statement, if he were still alive
C. Do I need to go back through all the post and repost the all post about how bad and incompetent SBI and Carbonell have been accused of. Yourself included.
D So you say that I'am ABSOLUTELY IGNORANT! because I brag about the amount of races when people have died because of incompetence. Name me ONE racer that you can PROVE that died because of our incompetence.

Make NO mistake, I know how things don't always go as planned. I know that in the rescue business, there will always be unforeseen challenges. You train for every challenge possible, have the proper equipment to adapt, improvise and overcome those challenges, but NEVER do you EVER give up on a patient.

I don't know this guy but I feel bad. Its clear he was not qualified to be a first responder in a race like this. But I don't think thats totally his fault. He was just trying to help and be involved. If I ask my 12 year old to load my boat on the trailer by himself and he crashes, is it totally his fault? Not that this diver is a 12 year old but he was asked and allowed to be responsible for something that he was not trained or qualified to do.
I love racing and would do whatever I could to help. I am sure this guy is the same. Here is a clip of his testimony. Not to throw him under the bus but to make it clear he was not qualified. There is a reason SBI was sued and not the diver. Its not totally his fault that he was put in the position he was.
I really do hope he can find someway to deal with this tragic event and move on. I bet he is a good guy and never meant anyone to get hurt. I am sure this has been a nightmare for him.
http://youtu.be/LbgBxkAVYpI There are other clips on my youtube of the case.
Not sure why there is so much bickering. Bottom line is that it was tragic and the racing community needs to learn from it. A defensive person never learns.
