And I get upset when my anchor get's stuck in clay/mud.

It could of been some kind of electrical current, magnetic field being transferred down the chain to ground that was irritating it, so he tried to eat it, LOL

Very cool experience.The vibration of the chain in the water would attract him also. They will taste test.
