I'm not sure but he might be out of the country so I took a screenshot of your quote from Steve and I'll text it to him. This way I can't be accused of misquoting you. When he replies or text back I can better answer your question if you lied or not.

Here are the facts, Pete's blood flows OSS, Franks blood flows SBI, now you have the second coming of OSS called OSS part 2 and Pete is happy as a pig in mud, he has new life, all his dreams have come true, then it becomes an utter failure( ATM starts off with 20 G, last year had to be refilled, this year only 2 G removed from it... SOURCE: Sarasota Herald Tribune) says failure to me

Now this thread comes back to life and I bet all the money in my bank acct that Steve will tell Frank that he never said it. Now in saying that, Pete is not a liar cause it was probably said, however, most would rather tell ya what you want to hear, instead of being the bad guy, welcome to offshore racing 101!!!!

Pete, there's a great race your at today and you are one of the premier photogs in the sport, we look forward to all the great shots.. OSS and OSS Part 2 failed miserably, they're dead until someone else gets the itch with the "I can do it better than you syndrome" and further fractures this sport even worse than it is. Its a shame, Sarasota was such a great site, hopefully they call OPA so it can continue into the future( Not promoting OPA, Sarasota promoter wont do anymore business with SBI, SBI wont do anymore business with the current promoter, only thing left with any shred of credibility is OPA)

Lets have a moment of silence out of respect for the dead and move on...

Chris, Love the old Telium boat you have, shes sweet, also you have proven to be a great addition to the Shoot to Thrill staff with your incredible editing of the on-boards, look forward to seeing your work from this weekend

I dont know, I can say hes never lied to me, however with all that has transpired, I am scared to talk with him for the fear of being lied to and changing my respect for him and his contributions to our sport..

To an extent, I still do take this sport seriously heck I'm building another boat to come back out, but just the other day I was thinking about how to make our sport better and our product is lacking, 1-2 laps and there is no racing, its a battle of attrition...I posted on FB about balancing boats and that you cant just add fuel and turn left(not pointing the finger at anyone) and boy did I get bashed(guess the guilty felt obliged to defend themselves)... I never professed to be the all knowing, but I am known for getting close to getting setups right, still have a long way to go though. Long story short, an OPA staff member even came back and advised me to get my boat done so one of my fellow competitors "could stick a d ick in me" wow, let me tell ya, I rushed over to the shop and got right to it Here's where it gets better, all the spineless racers liked the crap out of his statement and I PM'd him and provided my # that if he has a problem with me call me was informed that I am missed and was offered a ride until mine is ready, that there is no issue.. lolol Let me tell ya, it just makes me want to hurry up and get back out there

It is what it is, been around this for 15 years now and yes i still have hope, but all we are is just a dog chasing our tail and in looking at this year, its actually getting worse, maybe with OSS part 2 dead now, we can have high hopes for 2016

Even more the reason why you can't take any of this serious, when it's not any fun anymore then it's not worth doing. We sure as hell don't do it for the money.

I was told, not by opgp staff, but Sarasota event organisers that the reason OPGP was able to secure that site was because SBI we're looking for a five year commitment from Sarasota, which Sarasota was not willing to do. Understandable considering last year was a toss up whether or not the event would even happen. OPGP stepped in and offered to run a boat race. I really don't believe OPGP we're doing anything underhanded to pull the site from SBI. Maybe if OpGp didn't step in there wouldn't have been a race at all. If OPGP don't come back in 2016 I'm sure SBI will jump at the opportunity. Business is business.

Chris, as you said, "you were told".... There is so much more that has happened for going on 3 years now, transpired.. None of this happened over night... I was told(by THE organizer not OSS Part 2 officials) along with an OPA staff member that I used to have very close ties to last October that SBI was demanding a 3 year contract and Sarasota couldnt commit, Its amazing that now it gets out that SBI demanded a 5 year deal when if you talk to the other side SBI was willing to do a 1 year deal 1 final time....

In 2013 we all (in SBI) were told at the beginning of the season that all teams were invited to compete in Qatar during the upcoming winter(everything paid for).. It drug on and on and even further on to the point that I even acquired my current boat to be able to have the opportunity... Fast Fwd to NYC with still no specifics and i approached Steve and he told me point blank, "we only want the cats, Trent, your class isnt what we want over there" Hell I was appreciative on his honesty to me then go to Clearwater and they offered all of us 13 G and the only thing that was covered was boat shipment. Everyone declined....

I am sure you will be "told" a ton of stuff now that your back in offshore, my only advice to you is, Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see
