Yes, I could do that but it won't be part of the sim. Virtually all of the boat models I found that were interesting to me had too many polygons to run the physics in real time, and they're not necessarily laid out in a physics friendly way. Since I couldn't find what I wanted, I wrote a procedural system that generates the boat geometrically from the parameters you provide. This way it always works and the polycount can be kept within a reasonable range. That's something the players can tinker with to generate their own hulls. I've spent hours just tweaking the pad and other stuff in an effort to gain 2 or 3 mph. My kind of fun.

Yeah, that would be really cool, although I won't be ready to get into doing offshore boats for a long time yet (if ever). I've had a couple of offshore teams contact me here since posting this thread though.
