When I had it for sale, I got little action on it and it was also winter. I was asking a bit more, and let the buyer knock me down a bit. Then he gave me the "I can only come up with X amount". Being winter I decided to play along........ Anyway, it worked out perfect, my current boat popped up on the Concept Facebook page just as we finalized the sale. I could have held out for more, but given the timing it worked out. I am so happy with my CC purchase. I really enjoyed my Velocity though, and I do miss the sound of a big block. Velocities are a different looking boat. Most people either love or hate the looks. If you do lean toward Velocity, I strongly suggest one with the windshield. With the already deep cockpit, the addition of the windshield will keep you warm on those colder days, out of the wind and rain too. Only complaint was due to the deep cockpit, people riding in the back seat couldn't see over the dash, so their only view was to the side. But that's also a good thing because being that deep/low in the boat, certainly feels safer...

I would lean towards the velocity, they are just better boats. I have riden in both and on a semi choppy day the checkmate was a bit sketch. You should consider a 29' fountain. All in all any day on the water is a good day and long as it's running.
