Default No more Ilmor V-10s?

Thank you for your interest in Ilmor. Regarding our V10’s and Indy Drives, we are limiting new production for the time being, but are still offering full service and parts support for product in the operation. We will be focusing heavily on our MV8 engine line where there is more growth opportunity for us under current market conditions.

Regards,

And they are matching up the Yanmar twin prop outdrive & transom assembly to enter the V-8 engines for sterndrive use or should say trying to. If these engines were not already going into Mastercraft boats for the past 4 years IMO ILmor would not even bother with the marine side.

Have to ask and wondering a first post from OP and its about Ilmor not selling the V-10 anymore. Wonder if it is 100% legit. Just asking.

I don't see anymore V-10s on their web site.

It's true. Called Ian myself last week. Ian said they are still going to service the V-10 and offer rebuilds on the existing engines, but outside of a few orders they have outstanding Ilmor isn't accepting orders for new V-10s. They just aren't selling enough of them to justify continued production.

I just had my two 7-10's rebuilt at Ilmor last fall. Now that you can no longer buy them I wonder if the existing ones will someday be coveted - like the old hemi's of the muscle car era. Or not.

I wanted to put a set in my cigarette last year. but it would really kill the resale if the motor is no longer made

I am not sure they will have the same cashe' as a Hemi , besides they are still doing the hemi on a large scale . I would be concerned that the stopping of production will hurt resale values of boats , not like having a BBC or Mercury blue where parts are seemingly endless . I have heard nothing but good things about the marine performance though.
Just my 2 cents

What a bummer. I thought it was a great platform. They really are great engines to make make big power and torque on pump gas
