I thought smoking gun was part of that "east coast salt dealers' syndicate with Sick singer, Kid Apachhe etc All their parts look like they`ve been sitting under water for the last 100 years but "salt doesn`t affect anything?' Ha! good one.

for all those that say fresh water is created equal what about:

Ph levels / acidity
chlorine levels
Calcium/mineral hardness
Pollution
Etc

Last time I checked all of those elements impact corrosion and they vary depending on region, rainfall, Inherent mineral deposits, etc.
