I had something just like that in the 70's......

It was a Bean Bag. Ok in a centre console for the trip back home or in front of the tv in a 1978 porn star bachelor pad but don't cover a go fast boat with it!

I had them on my 32 MCOB.....not worth the hassle! If I ever built another MCOB they would be deleted. The are tough to keep clean, they a pain to remove/reset after they are a year or two old and I personally never used them!
