Cigarette Broke in Half

I herd over the weekend a Cigarette that runs out of the Avalon / Sea isle area cracked in half. Like a 1" split from deck to keel. Anyone have any info on this?

thirdchildhood 07-07-2015 10:23 AM

Sounds like the Donzi that jumped the 30' wave!

The OSO Pink Flamingo met a similar fate out in California, but I think it was an older carbon boat.

cowisl 07-07-2015 10:28 AM

Was it the old "Offshore Cowboy" boat?

370ss500efi 07-07-2015 11:25 AM

not sure, I have seen a couple Cig's runs out of that area.

UR2late 07-07-2015 12:36 PM

I am in Ocean Ciy NJ and didn't hear anything.

endeavor1 07-07-2015 12:57 PM

Didn't know Cigs could break. Thought they broke the water underneath them.

In all seriousness, is be interested to see what gave and what we're the water conditions being ran in to do it.

thisistank 07-07-2015 01:29 PM

Haven't heard anything. Go to the source and track down what happened or where this originated from.

Never seen a cig split like that, a 38' hustler running back from Catalina in some big water, yes, pink flamingo delam on the bottom after hitting a submerged log, yes...but not a cig split from pounding.

78CIG24 07-07-2015 03:14 PM

This is the only way I have even seen a Cigarette broken in half.................

I don't think it is. I spoke to his father today and he didn't say anything to me.
His father is LS jr's godfather.

And yes David likes to go fast, to say the least...

370ss500efi 07-07-2015 10:33 PM

I believe it is offshore cowboy. i saw picture of blue hullside with full crack length from deck to keel right around front of cockpit.

barron 07-08-2015 07:40 AM

That's cool seeing other carbon top guns. How many others were built?

253 07-08-2015 08:52 AM

Some people can break anything, it's called driver abuse.

370ss500efi 07-08-2015 09:01 AM

not the best picture and the only one I have, seems to be some structural issues to say the least.

That's a sheetrock wall that somebody painted a boat paint scheme on.

offshorexcursion 07-08-2015 09:31 AM

Could have fallen off the trailer or crane for all we know at this point

rak rua 07-08-2015 09:32 AM

Nothing a good seismologist couldn't fix.

Sydwayz 07-08-2015 09:34 AM
