Something wrong with water pump, there are several good U-tube videos on changing, maybe 1/2-1 hr. to complete the job.

So your drive is installed and you are NOT running water thru the outdrive pick ups in the lower unit - IF SO you just burned up your complete impeller and housing and seals and water tube and water tube pocket and cover.

Or am I wrong about not have a water supply to your outdrive water inlets ?

i have water going to it. goes in the lower unit. via motor flusher coming off the garden hose from my house...... the only hose i took off was the hose that goes from the outdrive to the engine the one thats connected to the power steering cooler i believe. .... to see if water was making it into the engine. water just barely comes out of the drive when running.

You most likely will need a complete impeller kit including the housing and the lower base . then check the water pocket and cover in the upper underside, it needs to be perfect with no melting or leaks ' - it is gasket sealed. Thats the portion where the water tube on top of the impeller housing slides up into.

Time to pressure test the drive. That's the only sure way to find out where it's coming in. Could be as simple as the seal / washer that's on both the Drain and Vent screws. Then again it could be one of a number of seals in and around the drive. I'd suggest taking it to a shop you can trust and have them go through the whole drive.

Just a guess put there are some small O-rings that need to be seated in place when you put the drive together could you have missed one?
