Rocky did it in 1 hour and 43 minutes.

But...... I am not sure if the routes are the same as the 1979 run in the Cougar cat.

Rocky's average was 50 MPH.

Congrats anyway to someone actually operating a high performance Apache, away from the beach and attempting to set a new record.

seems to me more of a publicity stunt than a sincere attempt to set a world record......with the hardware that exists today, a 41 Apache should be able to make that run on a day like today averaging way faster than 62 mph.....

they were averaging around 90 until stopped about 10 miles from Havana, guessing it was Cuban CG, we will see.

boy, you arm chair cowboys are quick to judge.... ever been in the ocean? it gets bad quick. you cant tell 3 foot from 8 foot swells at speed. your always waiting for that sweet spot where it will lay down and you can fly but in reality you just keep chuggin. sounds like a great attempt. CONGRATS !

I feel like a good representative for an arm chair cowboy, I like the idea that they were doing an endurance run and all the promotion they did. I think the execution of the record could have been better. On our New York to Bermuda run (800 miles in North Atlantic) on a shoe string budget we had live video the whole way and tracking that showed speed ect. And communication to update people live.

Every reference I've seen to the boat said 50, I know it's a restored 47 but a few people have asked with no real answer to why it was called a 50
