Here is the starting point and ending point for the 1 hour 50 minute time it took them to travel 105 miles. They are saying it was over 110 miles so if you add a few to each end it would be a little bit more time then the chart and spot tracker show. And I think the wave reports for sea height match more with wind speed along the run then with wave height, maybe they were mis-quoted?

Google earth shows 104 miles as shortest possible route from just off Southern most point marker in Key West to just off Havana harbor. so 105 should be about right as they wandered around a little when they were stopped a few miles from their destination

They were quoted in the article saying they traveled 110 "Nautical Miles" which is like 126miles. Maybe deviations in course across the 105 miles resulted in 126 miles? It's a little odd but good to see they made it. Maybe the return trip will be much faster.

Congratulations on the new record. The boat looks fantastic running in open water.

After you set the new return record to Key West, you will still have time to bring the boat north for the Don Aronow Around Long Island Race on August 22nd.

Imagine that boat running up the East River past the UN building.

That photo would be a major classic all, over the world, recognized by everyone.

The waves in that video are coming from the wrong direction if they were heading from Key West to Cuba last Saturday. Video must have been from a test run at another time.

That did cross my mind. The pictures off Havana showed glass like water
