arneson drives on tiger
Was thinking of replacing my bravo xr's in the spring with the arneson drives but not sure how it will effect the way it handles. If anyone has some experience with these it would help. Also looking for someone in the north east that can do the conversion.
Thanks |

I posted the same question but went directly to RIK from arneson. I like the tigers and there were a couple deals but I didnt want to have the bravo xrs. It would be a nice conversion with a pair of 525's gas and go................... I planned on selling off the ITS boxes and drives to re coup the $$ but its still 50-60k either way.

I figure if I keep the boat for 10 years it will pay for itself. How do the NXT drives hold up? |
What about selling your rig and buying the tiger with 900s and 6s in the classifieds? I don't know the boat but it looks bad azz. Yours may be killer as well. Just thought I'd mention it.

I think if you also get some of the Arneson type tabs that bend and give rocker to the bottom of the boat to lift the bow you should be fine . hopefully Rick will chime in soon

They look really cool and throw one heck of a rooster tail.

Marginmn, did you put the conversions on or were they on the boat? Just wondering your opinion the pro's and con's of the kits. I have a set in the boxes still and I am on the fence to install or sell them.

They are not that bad at all , the only problem you might have is drilling the holes for the extension boxes just make sure they are straight and the boxes will go on real easy

If it's a staggered application they may have to full in the notch to allow them to be mounted low enough.

Bought them for my 04 T/S Gun, Rik has answered all the questions that we have had. He said the notch is fine just to drop them down as low as possible. What props are you spinning?

When the zrc full staggered boat was done small pods were made to cover the front of the boxes so they would not drag in the water

Marginmn, with a staggered setup and the arnesons doesnt that have a ton of stern lift? Is that why you want to go with the 18* rake props?

the closest is http://www.kolorcraftautobody.com/ they are in Syracuse NY, Rik from Arneson recommends them, and they have done many.

Canale Marine is putting a set on a 42' Tiger soon as I can get the parts back from the powder coaters. Custom color for that boat. Will know more after it's done but Tony told me the boat is a center console?

Yes, more rake to give it more bow lift.

They are called rocker plates , here is a link on OSO with some info on them , from my understanding on some boats the Arnesons cause no bow lift and the rocker plates will give bow lift to help fix that issue
