There is an risk everytime you put the key in the ignition, boat or car or truck. Funny how many don't quite understand that.

? ......... Your getting off the target. I was sticking up for you now it sounds like your just saying it's all bad. We understand IF you wake up in the morning on any morning there is a chance it's your last. But you said that in boating it's your risk and life of yourself in your own hands.... Less " cars driving next to you" . Are you saying to us now that we are just f ucked ........ Your playing both sides now. I can't follow what your saying. Should I get up or not. Go on the boat = safe or death... Or go to work and die. Help me

There wasn't any significant damage - but rule #1 is ALWAYS get a police report. I got out of the car - of course traffic is backed up for mile by now-- and asked if this gal was ok - which she was. She immediately said that she had to go pick her daughter up and was leaving. I calmly explained to her that I was calling the police and if she left I had her car license number and I would report that she left the scene of an accident. I was getting a police report. She immediately did the pigeon-head- bob along with the finger twirl and said that I was being disrespectful of her. I politely smiled and said sorry but that's the law!. Police show up a few minutes latter and we fill out the paper work - the officer came to my car and said it was ok for me to leave but the gal that hit me would be there for a while- he said the plate number didn't match the car, she had no proof of insurance, and the registration of the car was in someone elses name. Also, just for the heck of it I called the number that she provided and I got some foreign speaking person - I asked for the gal that hit me and they didn't know who she was.

Don't ever like to learn of an accident - glad that you both were ok -- BUT NEVER EVER think you don't want a police report.

Oh by the way National Car - took all of the information including a copy of the police report and I never heard anything else.

Friend of my wife came out to her minivan in the parking lot to see it was sideswiped with a note on the windshield. She called the phone number on the note, only to find that it was a bogus number. Apparently the person who hit her van was probably seen by witnesses, so he/she scrawled out a note with a number on it to make it look like they were doing the right thing. Karma is a beotch, and is surely looking for this azzwipe.

Glad you are o.k.. I hate our insurance company here, its a government corporation and to drive you need their minimum insurance on the car. I hate it because government should not own and operate corporations. But it does have an advantage and that is everyone who owns a car here is insured by the same company. Since its government the insurance is also in charge of registration. You can't have registration without the minimum amount of insurance. So its rare here to have an accident with an non insured driver. Second the cars plates gives the insurance info. Also a drivers license number will also tell if they have cars registered and insured. Say someone borrows someone else car, if they also own a car and its insured by the government insurance the claim will go on their insurance. All you need here is the plate and someone's drivers license number.

The insurance company here also issues drivers licenses. They can refuse to renew drivers licenses for people who owe them money. They have a little more power then a regular insurance company. O.k. another benefit of having a government owned insurance company. You can get new plates, registration and insurance on a Sunday all at one place.

In NC, you ahve to pay your personal property taxes and get a NC inspection on the vehicle before you get the privilege to pay for the tag. Glad all my vehicles will have TN tags and no more personal property tax in about 3 weeks. Hell yea TN baby!
