In multiple threads this rebuild cost has been said. Tring to get out of it is not going to happen. Why do you think there are so many beautiful boats that have 250 hours and up on QC4V Mercury's for sale? By the time it is done the cost is $200k and add the time of non use. That is why these boats are being sold. Add that $200k to the asking price of a used boat and it is close to the cost +/- of a new boat. I was from Ohio and a bonehead as well tiring to justify the $$$ then there was the Wife. You want to Play You Got to Pay. Boats are never a good investment from the cash standpoint. That is why I said I would Never own one. So I got several now in different states, new and used, LOL. The value is the Great times you have on them and Memories. It took a long time to realize that. Money in the bank will not get you those things.
