Your absolutely right that was my first thought a fresh engine with some good heads and cam and I would make enough power for what I want to do with the boat ! One month to play with it and 6 months to think about what to do to it LOL Pry over thinking it as usual, I'm good at that !! Need to Keep it simple !! Thanks for the input !!

Um, your current motor and boat is supposed to exceed what you are looking for it to do, and you are still thinking about mods ?

It's like having an STD and wanting a dik implant. Good analogy ? LOL.

Find out what is wrong with the boat and fix it.

Start with compression, timing, and fuel psi. If all okay weigh the boat ! Then onto possible carb (secondary) opening issues and so forth.

This is all assuming you werent driving with the drive and trim tabs buried at WOT.

LMAO that's funny SB, no I get it and understand where you're coming from let's build an engine because the timing may be off !! I done a lot of reading on these boats before I bought it and it's pretty much what I expected, heavy not a rocketship but a good riding boat. And after posting this thread I'm certain most of it's drivers error now ! After I went on the test ride first thing I thought is this boat would be pretty *****ing if it was just a tad faster LOL !! We're all motorheads and I'm sure 80% of us on this website think the same way !! My girlfriend always asks me why I always have to mess with everything i have and I tell her it's cause I have a penis you will never understand !!!! 😜

LOL. What I mean is fix what is wrong and then mod it if you still want. I am never against modding. unless it's modding something that is broke.

just for comparison my 242 with a remaned 454/350hp will get 55/56 but you really need to trim it out. I run a bravo 22p four blade labbed a little, rpms max at 4500.

I wouldn't touch it yet. Just get the 22p 4 blade so you get the stern lift you need for that boat. Then just go not and play with it. Cruise at 3500 and bump the trim. Then when you get comfortable with that and your rims are up try putting the tabs down a bit. You will feel the boat lift and feel lighter. When you have it set good then give it more juice. You will see thone rpms up at 46-4800 I bet. Like phragle said your close to him so maybe a day meeting up will be the best benefit. You can never go wrong having someone walk you through it so you know what is going on with what your doing.
