Awesome you own helmets. Bring one when you meet and go for a run with Phragle. You will thank me later for this.

More trim or more head, either one will get you where you want to be.

One thing I know about Rob, (Phragle), He'll always tell ya the truth as long as it's what you want to hear and he'll be there with ya thru thick and thin, (as long as it don't get to rough).

His mom will be though. :lolhit:

Silly question, doesn't the 242 have a trim limit switch??? if so, you should basically trim it until it stops trimming up at WOT assuming it is set correctly. If you have a trim limit switch, you will also have a trailer button on the controls which will allow you to raise the drive the rest of the way up. Once the drive hits the limit switch you can tweak with the tabs for conditions.

It does, trim & trailer ! It also has a gauge. I'll discribe it as looking like a fuel gauge with three marks on it , full, half and empty. Once on plane I was keeping the trim just above the empty line, sounds like this was my problem !

I bet that is your problem, that boat from 3500rpm and up should be trimmed all the way up with the trim button unless your load makes the front start porposing, then a touch down. As already stated, you will feel the boat loosen up/free up when it's trimmed far enough. I've had several boats with a limit switch, most of them were set perfectly. I did have one boat that liked one "bump" of the trailer button once it was all the way up on the trim switch.
Make sure your tabs are all the way up the first time you try this to eliminate them from the equation until you get the feel for it. (you may want them down some to get on plane, but then raise them to get them out of the way). Enjoy. Good Luck! |
I'll be damn, so you're saying that trim switch is preset from the factory basically and should be all the way up while driving after 3500 or so ? I know I never had it trimed that much ! Now it's making a bunch of sense when I had the 22 pitch 4 blade on there it would only rev to 4000-4100 but if I had some trim in it it may have rpm'ed closed to where I needed it to be !!

My guess is trimmed all the way out on the switch it will put you just above 1/2 trim on the gauge. |
