Very well said and this especially hits home for me having lost my mother just 2 weeks ago. She was in hospice and they were amazing. Thank you for all that you do, I see you are from Toledo and so am I, maybe you and I have crossed paths?

Thanks again

Well Said Phragle.

I've been a volunteer EMT for 26+ years now and just last night had a call that had me thinking the same thing.

Never take anything for granted and never pass up an opportunity you may not get again. Don't fret the small stuff, spend time with those you want to be with, and enjoy life to the fullest because it may be gone tomorrow.

Health, happiness, prosperity is the way go; life is fleeting.

This really hit home. I watched my beloved brother die a year and a half ago. End stage cancer. He was not conscious when we got to the hospital. I literally watched him die when life support was stopped. Treasure every moment we are alive because it could be the day we die. These forums are for sharing knowledge, helping one another, making friends and passing some time in a pleasant way. I get the feeling I missed something though.

Amen to this. On Jan 7th I was diagnosed with a 90% blockage in the widow maker. I was pretty much asymptomatic but having an aggressive personal doctor and referral to an equally aggressive cardiologist caught my disease before it killed me. Only 51 years old and no real family history of heart disease. Had a 4 vessel CABG on Jan 11th and now well on my way to a full recovery. Very lucky I just didn't drop dead of a massive heart attack. Puts a new perspective on life.

Not to jack the thread, but maybe add to the sentiment...

Quote from a recently lost cancer patient..

The things I used to worry about or obsess over, I know they’re just meaningless.
Time is the most precious currency we have.
You never know when your time is up.
You have to take advantage of every moment you have with your friends and family and loved ones because that can be
taken away in an instant. Everything else can be replaced.

I am taking my lovely wife for double mastectomy, lymph node removable, and full reconstruction tomorrow morning.
We are expecting the best, but this is from seemingly perfect health 3 weeks ago.

You never know what the day will bring when you get up in the morning,
As I get older, my idea of what is really important is definitely changing.
