Thank you all for a great time. All of us felt like we were treated as royalty the whole weekend. I would like to congratulate everyone involved in the Cottonwood Marine Top Gun Shootout for pulling off such a fantastic event, especially in such a difficult time.

That would be great! Maybe next year I will not be "boatless" and I can enter the Powder Puff Race........Watch Out...for real...maybe I should run before ANYONE puts their boats on the river. HA! Thanks again I had a BLAST!

I'm so glad to hear you all had a good time. It was great meeting all of you. I'm just sorry that the weather wasn't a little better & we had other emotional things to deal with. One of the young men that work for Cottonwood filmed the whole event & captured most of the boat runs. We watched it Sunday morning at the marina. He really did a great job with it. We are making copies if anyone would like one, let me know. I'm not sure what the cost will be yet.

We are discussing the possibility of having another shootout in the Spring so if that happens, I will be sure to let you know as soon as possible so you can plan ahead. Also, this event will be now known as the 'Bernie Balkus Memorial Shoot-Out'. Thanks to everyone for being so understanding throughout this whole thing. It was a pretty difficult time for us all but it made quite an impression on his family.

As soon as I can get back into the swing of things here, I will be putting together a slide show of pictures on OmahaRiverFront.com so send me any that you have so I can include them. Thanks again for coming & helping to make this a successful event. It can only get better next year.
