If you happen to be passing through Chicago i have a set of them off a 2008 Yukon Denali XL that one needs a passenger side motor...been toying with putting them on my 2010 avalanche but i'll never get around to doing it so i will donate them to the cause if you would like to pick them up

thanks, could you measure one of the steps and think about where I would mount to the bottom of trailer and see how low it would hang down?

Overdrive gearbox:

We finished the design of the overdrive gearbox. It is designed around three shafts and four gears. This configuration lets me locate the transmission output flange closer to straight line to the drive input. The overdrive box will bolt to the bell housing right where the transmissions was and the transmissions will bolt to the back of the overdrive box. This will lower the torque the transmission will see. I did not want to add any more pumps, coolers, tanks, ect. So we designed the gear box to be a wet sump that the water coming into the boat will go through the bottom of the gearbox and cool the aluminum and the oil sump will have fins that will cool the oil. It will have two gear ratios with 58 teeth and 52 teeth so it will be a net around .8 gear ratio or a 20% overdrive.
Now I just have to build it.

Check out this website Tyson - I've had these on my trucks for many years - they work great! If you look close at the attached pic, you can see them about flush with the bottom of the body. I can get you close up pictures of them on my truck if you'd like.

I like it.. Looks about as compact as can get. What's it add up to, under 5 inches?

Transmission will be happier also...

a counterrotating unit like that would be great for an Arneson application.

will the water pass through a strainer first or are the passages large enough to not have issues with seaweed/debris?

the water will go through the sea strainer first and the holes in the overdrive box are bigger then the holes in the sea strainer.
