LOL, I blew past plenty of OL in the Miami Boat Show poker run. Ran with the guys from PBC at Key West all the way from Gilberts to Marathon. They had 1350's and I had 700 vipers. Got plenty of vid of them trying to pull past.......lol
OL are def better boats than Elim's but the Elim's are damn good with a history since 1969. |

Trying to pull past?? LOL Your funny. 140mph Outerlimits and we never cracked 110. If I wanted to pass you, I would have, its not a race, we like our passengers to have a good time.

Hey Brett, are yall a dealer for these? http://www.overtons.com/modperl/prod...FQyHaQod_DYBGA
I think my Raymarine glass screen and GPS monster speedo are about 20 mph off. I need something accurate. |
Mike struck a deal with eliminator. They engaged in a partnership. Im sure he didn't sit back and think, "they'll build an inferior boat". Different build process. Mike, the founder of OL that probably knows a lot better about what was good for OL than anyone on this board, believed it was a wise business choice to have eliminator build the boats for whatever reason.
I presume part of his decision to do this had to do with the lack of financial gain of building an OL 29 at a lower price point. any big manufacturers have dabbled in the "let's build a smaller entry level boat at a reasonable price" game only to find out that the build cost comes surprisingly close to that of much larger vessels with way higher prices (cigarette vice comes to mind). The cost recovery is just not there when you compare it to larger boats. Eliminator is an outstanding boat. Better yet, run by down to earth, boat loving, outstanding people. Their history, including lake AND ocean racing, goes back nearly 50 years, which not many boat builders can claim. To dis eliminator just shows ignorance and a lack of respect for a company that has been there since the beginning. |
I have no doubt that the labor costs must be less for Eliminator to build a boat in California vs OL building them in Rhode Island.
I mean...just look at all those sanctuary cities in CA.... |

Fountains are faster and built the best of all :lolhit::evilb::party-smiley-004: Sorry just had to throw that in there since its trying to become a one is better than the other thread

I was told by multiple sources at o/l that when a hull is laid up they use continuing lengths of material, so 1 continuous piece front to back only over lapping side to side if that makes sense. Eliminator was using pieces of cloth where ever they fit, if a piece on a roll came up 2' short they added 2.5' off another roll.

The SV29 is a better lake boat than ocean boat in my opinion. Eliminator doesn't use inferior products and gel is better than paint.....that's about it. Next guy that bashes Eliminator is going to get a foot in their ass. Happy Friday!!
Anyways, just wanted to say I love that orange 29. Only question is, even though the seats are alcantara does that black get crazy hot? I've been in a few cars with that material on the seats but not an open cockpit boat. |

When Eliminator started spouting about how much weight they had saved with inferior resins and layup my conclusion was they have made it into a lake boat, you can't possibly use inferior materials, make it lighter and finish up with a boat that you can take out into the ocean and beat the crap out of .
Happy Friday :drink: |
