So, your saying that Eliminator used "inferior" materials? Please expand on this ...

Always thought this was an odd partnership or whatever it was. Not knocking Eliminator at all cuz I don't know much about them. Just seemed confusing from the get go as to who owned what.

Faulty trim tab indicator lead to too much tab input or something along those lines. Freak deal, Doc and Brian can attest to the fact that the boat can stay right side up in conditions and speed that few would ever dare run the boat.
No mention of previous incident |

No mention of previous incident http://www.boatingmag.com/boats/outerlimits-sv-29 msrp $228,885 minus sale price $139,900 equals $88,895 divided by utilization of 55 hrs equals $1,618.00 |
Did they pick Eliminator because they had access (or maybe they have) an autoclave big enough to cure that layup? A lot of autoclaves out there due to the aircraft industry.... Just curious, would make sense paired with the effort to sell boats on the West coast.
Does OL have a 50' autoclave in house? That would be impressive to see. |

We have the SV29 Ilmor/ Indy it has now covered over 200 hours mostly in the ocean and we have beaten the crap out of it, we run a lot in Key West and we go boating when the fisherman won't leave port and i have to say for a small boat it's sea keeping is excellent, even when you land hard on a chine it does not flex, your body would give up way before the boat. Our boat is still immaculate no cracks, crazing or any structural defects. When Eliminator started spouting about how much weight they had saved with inferior resins and layup my conclusion was they have made it into a lake boat, you can't possibly use inferior materials, make it lighter and finish up with a boat that you can take out into the ocean and beat the crap out of . So my view would be only buy an SV29 that is built by Outerlimits.
That's a very strong and derogatory statement about Eliminator, what is your justification? Personally I think Eliminator have consistently produced excellent and durable boats for many years. |
My Elim is carbon/Kevlar. Things are very detailed ie: double through bolted rub rail with double poly lock nuts. Please explain Peter?
