After years of riding with me a Buddy bought a 32 fountain, sunk a ton of money into it. Barely got to use the thing. Seemed he would fix something and the next time out something else happened. Had a new trailer built, new interior, covers, etc... He finally dumped the thing as he had enough. I sold mine last year too. Just not worth it to me anymore for how much we used it.

Somewhat relevant to the question is what do you call a performance boat? My first Donzi 16 was a 1965 with a Holman and Moody engine in it. I ran it from 1976 until 2000. The kids down the block had a faster 1970 16" Donzi with a VolvoPenta AQ260 350 c.i. engine in it. They got enamored with scurfing and I bought their boat. I added a DuoDrive to the Volvo outdrive and ran it for 24 years.I then sold it back to them for the same cost I had purchased it for. My present drive is a modified 18" Donzi Testarosa with a 454 MerCruiser that gets me to 88 mph on the GPS. At age 77 it is enough. Performance is in the eyes of the captain.
