Like many boat owners, my boat doesn't go out much. I've owned many different boats over the years, generally they got bigger and bigger and now I'm on the downsizing slope. Last one was a Sea Ray 410, and now a little smaller to a low maintenance, keep on a trailer, outboard powered Fountain. The next boat will probably be under 30' with a single stern drive or twin Verados.

Looking forward to shopping for my next boat but I'm concerned the one after that might be embarrassingly small!

Many of us get tired of the endless maintenance and the significant depreciation on boats but I have vowed, as long as I'm fit enough to operate a power boat, I will always own one and enjoy the days out, however few/many they will be.

RR

P.S. On reflection, I guess this is the 'anti-post' for your thread. Sorry.....

I have had three in the last five years 1999 24 FT Powerquest. A 2004 30 foot Powerquest sold last year, kind of still wish I had that boat, just bought a 2007 353 Fastech. Each one in my eyes took me along time to find. There just does not seem to be many nice used boats on the market that are priced according to what they are worth. While I am not worrying about where my next cup of ramen noddles is coming from. I certainly do not have the funds to purchase a new boat in this size range.

With the average cost of over 500k for a new 38+ size boat with modest power I can totally see buying a nice used boat for 100-150k and putting a little $$ in it to make it real nice. The depreciation on the new boats in the first 5-7 years is crazy.

Its a disease, I am now at 10 boats, in the past 17 years. I have 2 currently which is a good number. So I guess I am in the mix. Like many have said, wouldn't trade it for the world. Love it.

Rollin1405 is the winner.......cheers
