I remember reading that the consensus was that anything under 600HP through a XR would be pretty reliable, but the heavier the boat got and the more HP, the less reliable it would be. O course, that depends on how the driver treats his stuff too. To me, anything more than 565HP in anything bigger than 35" and one might have to baby the equipment to keep it alive. I think the NXTs are rated for 1000HP, so pushing 700HP through those leaves some room to push them harder. Would I be correct in that thinking? The technology in the 700 is superior as well, no?

To clarify, the transmission set up for the NXT is a cone clutch LIKE a bravo, but quite a bit bigger. It is, however, still the weak link in the system. If you bump up the 700s, then you need to do the Bam NXT conversion at about $10k per side, then its basically a #6 set up and pretty reliable.

10 months, but who is counting.
I wasn't planning top sell. A lot of the work I did for my tastes. I just can't pass up this cat offer without giving it a good try.
The AT was a great boat that came along at the right time. This cat has been on the "dream" list since it was built.
