WOW! After reading all 11 pages in this thread (so far), it appears that SOMEONE must know something. Buyer got hosed, seller states that he THOUGHT the repairs were legit, consigner denies any knowledge of damage...... Hmmmm, LOOOCY, YOU GOT SOME SPLAININ TO DO!! I don't know squat and I'm nobody, but I hate to hear of folks getting dumped on.......

Nuke,
Would you know if the Bill Burke is from the Cincinnati area? If he is Hamilton County, Ohio Clerk of Courts and Butler County, Ohio Clerk of Courts website has some interesting reads - William Burke, Burke Power and Burke Alarm. Beautiful boat! You'll get it straightened and don't look back! |
Others have told me that he's one in the same. Moved his gig from Cincinnati to Lake Cumberland.

I had some dealing with LCM about 10 years ago - Dan was the salesman. Seemed somewhat shady and avoided doing business with them.

^^^^^ You mean was the cheap cover up cob job repair that a middle schooler did in art class with 25 bucks disclosed ? Sure do not think so.
So why do I keep running my big mouth because crap like this takes good boaters out of boating for good because they can NOT get their boat properly fixed or shaddy stuff like this is done to them. Overtime they look at it is why bother to even own a boat anymore - time to get out for good and find a better cheaper hobby. I see stuff like this somewhat and really bad boat repairs along with alot of miss stuff as well on a weekly basis, The end user has not one ounce of trust anymore in any marine industry areas including even with the good shops LIKE WHAT I PROVIDE. Sh!tty business practices like this from "reputable" dealers/broker/surveryors/sellers will make ANYONE gun-shy to buy a used boat. I'm sick to my stomach for OP, because it could have easily been any of us, at any price point. |
I'm looking for a 'halo career' (start that in about 4 years). I may just open a surveying business. Over 25 years in the automotive industry. ...and about that many on and around boats as a hobby.
...and I shoot straight - if it's a POS, I'll tell ya! |

Problem is a big marina can have a big effect on a surveyors income. Especially if they don't like a report on one of their boats.
