problem with the ten weekends is most of us do the same events, might be some scheduling issues :D You would have to find five guys generally un related in the community . . . . just a though.

...not sure I'd own a boat if I could only go out 10 weekends. I hate it for you guys! LOL!

I'm in the north and been out 28 times and counting this summer ...

I think it's a great value. What's the final breakdown for costs including maintenance items?

I'm working out the details now. It will be an all inclusive lease rate that will include everything except fuel. We will require a modest refundable seasonal damage deposit.

I think it is a great idea, my only "what if" is.....

what if a person who is leasing the boat wants to use it on a day that is usually a rental cash cow (i.e the Miami FPC run)?

If we go with a fractional lease program there will be no more chartering.

For the best events they will come at a premium. We will decide either to set a given rate or "bid" for them. This year I have the boat chartered for Key West at a very good number and have people who want more.

In terms of getting more weekends......buy more shares.

doesn't always happen, sometimes work just calls.

I live in the south and my last year with the Sonic if got used 5 times all year. Life isn't always as fun as we like it to be all the time and the boat doesn't pay for it's self.

I'm with you Nate, between the cuddy i use for my infants and the fish/ski i use with my older boys, AND going fishing in friends boats, i've been on the water a total of 5 times this year, and got towed back one of those times. work harder now so i can play a lot later

Preliminary numbers look like this

The boat needs to do about $50,000 annually to make sense

5 shares at $9k each is $45,000. Key West week would make up the other $5k.

That would give everyone 10 weekends/weeks. The boat would be available to any member if it wasn't reserved for a given weekend at no additional charge. I would be one of the members with 10 weekends. I would maybe use 4 of them so 6 of my weekends would be open.
