When we have 4 members....

Member 1 will pick his week first
Member 2 next
Member 3 third
Member 4 fourth and fifth
Member 3 sixth
Member 2 seventh
Member 1 eighth and ninth.

As we are ramping I will allow member 1 to pick 2 or 3 weeks up front for being the first customer.

I expect this to be a gentlemen's arrangement where we can all communicate and mostly get whatever weeks we desire.

I will not ask d-bags back if they don't play nicely.

Really like the idea but the distribution of weeks will need some work. There are probably five weeks that 85% of the prospects will pick if they are looking at using the boat ten times during the year. Not sure what the answer is without having different price levels based on choice priority. And I'm probably not unique in wanting to know my weeks before signing an agreement. Just saying work out these details and you have a better shot at winning.

I'll make it easy......how about something like this:

First member to sign up year one gets first 3 picks of weeks.

If no second member in next 3 weeks then can pick 3 more weeks.

If still no second member by 8 weeks after signing lease then first member can pick next 6 weeks to complete their 12 weeks.

Year 2 with 4 members on board - we will go to a draw/draft method. If you don't like your picks then don't sign the contract.

Without spending $250k for a boat, $40k on dockage, insurance, depreciation, and maintenance thenthere will need to be some flexibility.

This boat will depreciate more than the cost of a one fractional lease cost.

Again,

If a member is in town and boat is not in use.....go use it.

This will be a very flexible arrangement and I will see to it that everyone gets along as such.

Of course once weeks are locked down I'll insure your time is available if there is even a slim chance you will be there. If not, any other member can take the boat out if they make a phone call or text. I

Bimini

"Recovery Room" went to Bimini in August.....

The cabin was a nice feature to haul our luggage. Seas were 2s. We ran about 40-45mph over and back.

I did the lease today

One thing we added was splitting the year into two 6 month "seasons". This allow for a more equitable distribution of weeks/weekends.

The Google Calendar will be used to keep all four members real time informed of the status of the boat.

2/3 or the 84 time slots will be predetermined pre"season" and 1/3 will be somewhat open and available "on the fly"

By me holding back a share there is a massive buffer for the other 3 members to use the boat.

There are provisions for members to use the boat when the boat is not in use via direct communication with other members.

There are also unlimited allowances for members to trade days or weeks.

In essence, this 20 page lease agreement is very detailed and enforceable if it needs to be....but my goal would to never have to refer to it because we all behave like gentlemen and act like partners.

Out of curiosity for those interested, what happens when one member damages the boat or something catastrophic happens that cannot be replaced/ repaired by the next weekend which is of a different member?

Refund the member the time lost.

Loose 1 week will will refund 1/12 of membership fee and so on.

The member who damaged it pays Recovery Charters for the lost revenue.

If it was a mechanical issue the we pay the refund.
