So i picked up a used 1996 454 Magnum Mpi out of a dual engine Sonic for a 88 scarab I purchased off craigs list minus engine. Nice surprise when I installed it and fired it up for the first time. Can't be stock by the sound of the idle. I used a set of Gill exhaust with Hardin risers that came with the boat. Water enters the exhaust just before the transom. Has baffles slipped into the tips. Cruises 44mph at 3700rpm. Tops out a hare over 64 at 5000. I didn't expect to hit 60.

Sounds good. Kinda sounds like there was a cam change to me.
