Thanks pete35fountain.. Theyre gonna call me tomorrow with info. Strange law ! cant Leave one U.S. port and enter another U.S. port.... Have to run it up river to canada then they can ship it to Florida. they dont go farther up the northest coast. So maybe I'll get a reason to do some florida boating and get a good ride home in it to NJ !

there was a program on Discovery Channel...Megaships...that featured a fleet of ships specifically designed for this. There are 3 or 4 ships that sail the west coast into the Caribbean alone, and if I recall 8 dedicated ships in fleet. including a couple of ships that sink and maneuver into position under the yacht. I just can't remember the shiplines name and was too lazy to google any further than the first page.

Saw a cruise ship went thru escorted by an Ice breaker. 20K a head to ride along. Might help pay for fuel lol.

Companies like Dockwise have heavy lift ships for transporting vessels, http://www.yacht-transport.com/.

Also consider a shipping/logistics company to handle it all, some are http://www.petersandmay.com/, http://www.sevenstar-yacht-transport.com/, and http://united-yacht.com/.

Jones Act comes into play as only US flagged vessels can transit from US port to US port. Foreign flagged vessels have to depart from a Canadian (or other foreign) port when calling in the US.

No way you will do that for 60 thousand in fuel unless it is a single engine trawler like a Nordhaven.

Buddy took a 54 Bertram around the great loop 25 years ago when fuel was easily half . Spent 45000 in fuel..

Boat like that probably burns 40 gallons an hour at idle at 6 knots.

I m guessing some big 1600 horse MTUs in something that long.

Baia? If so that could be a cool one

Thanks everyone. Just got quote from place i called yesturday. by ship from Vancoover to florida is $70k..

And yes, its 1600hp MTU's x 2. very thursty...Im thinking, plan my next 3 or 4 vacations on it working my way around the coast. first from seattle to baja Cali.then next one to panama. next one to key west, then the last one back to NJ.

I should have it home in 4 years !

What is the cruise speed? What is its range? I know a couple guys that would drive it around, you could be on for pieces of the trip for vacation.
The north route would be an option too with about half the miles. It has been done in a center console with outboards so in that big of a boat should be no problem.

Truck may not cost as much as you think as long as it's not tall. I can check on truck price of you want. I checked on 86' x 20' from Michigan to Miami and it was only 17,000

I thought they were kidding.... What and where is the northern route from seatle washington to New jersey? I must have missed that one.
