You have no idea how hard it is to delete an ad on powerboat listings.com, my ad from 7 years ago is still on there after numerous attempts to have THEM delete it because I couldn't.

Basically I agree - the point really was if used boats are going to climb drastically in selling prices then all the more it could make new boats a better option for sales. Keep in mind for older boats, it is getting very hard to find new parts and even engine blocks for. Again this helps new boats for an uptick in sales as the industry deeply needs. Many service shops will not even touch a 20 year old boat either. If you call Mercruiser looking to buy any 454 -- no more 454 remans or repowers or new 454 blocks and or 454 engines thru them to be had. They are all done with the 454 completely even remans like I said.

The question for an off the topic comparison is how much would you pay for a single cab chevy 1500 - 2000 year model say in average condition - with somewhat outdated looks and an engine that is not even made anymore with very mild options ? Would you pay 3/4 of a price tag what it sold out the door for in 2000 ? that would be a possible calculation of around 30 K for an old truck. 17 year old auto / truck is considered old by auto standards - I doubt you would even pay 17 K for it - At 30 K for a 17 year old used truck - I surely would be looking at new trucks not even thinking about anything used. Point well taken I would hope.

Also if you looked around and did some haggling on the used boat market especially this time of year and forward --- think about what 45K to 50 K would really get you.
