More Hp due to less drag on engines.

I would have went with the 36... just my bias opinion. This boat is in the middle market and that's why it hasn't sold in my opinion. Feel like it's giving it away at 72 but just the wrong price point between two markets. Good luck with the 33 though!

And the fact that getting financing on a 2002 isn't easy. You have to put 15% down which is the norm but then they only finance 75% of the book value. Which the books is only $57k. They don't care about upgraded drives and motors ect. So I didn't feel like it was worth it to take that much money out of the bank when it's off season and have to wait 8 months to use it. I could take some of that and do some nice upgrades on the 33 the way I want and not what someone else built. And the 33 in my opinion was priced low for what it is and the condition it's in. It looks like a 2013 33 sst model.

Congrats on your new boat. Im sure that you will enjoy it. I was looking at both the 33 and 36 when I got mine. Went with 36 simply because of the availability and price point. No regrets on my end. The 33 would be a little faster since the 36 is a bit heavy. I think the reason why people said you should have gone with the 36 is not simply due to the model but because of that particular boat. Dock Holiday really knew his boats and any of his boats would be a nice buy due to his level of meticulous attention to details. But like you said, the 33 worked out better for you and Im sure it will bring you many happy hours on the water.

Thank you RollWithIt. I understand and I did a lot of reading and researching on that boat. From when Dock started the build to the completion. Guess my point was if it's such an unbelievable boat and such a killer deal why has it been on the market since spring time? I just felt it was more boat than what I need not just in upgrades but with the ammeneties down in the cabin. I just think the 33 power package from what I've read is one of the best ones out there and reliable, along with getting the extension boxes, Imco shorties and 5 blade props to add to it .

When it was for sale in the spring it was for 82,500 and it did sell for 80k but was already mid may and I decided to hold onto it due to the situation that I just bought a place on the river and didn't have time to go find a new boat equivalent to this one when summer already started. So at 72k it will sell for sure but that's why it seems like it was for sale since spring.

I will admit the simplicity factor of not having all the amenities is nice at times. Its less to worry about servicing and cleaning and winterizing... lol Not to mention the shorter length can make it easier to tow and dock, but these two boats are not really that different in length. The 36 is actually 35'8". The hull was designed originally by Cigarette, then sold and then sold again at which time Baja ended up with it. The 33 was designed in house and is said to actually have more running surface when in the water. The extra amenities worked for the type of boating we do here around Pittsburgh while offering me something that I can take to Erie or the Atlantic to run. If I was only looking for a run fast boat, I would not need all the extra stuff.
