I am looking for a fast single engine boat. Right now the 29 Fountain Fever seems to be my ideal boat. I am new to the performance world and want to head down the right path the first time. Is there anything comperable to the 29 Fever that I should be looking at?

I would also take a look at Scarabs.
Mine has a 502mpi with a Whipplecharger.
They have a tough hull and ride good in the rough stuff. Their reasonably price for new and used.
You'll get a lot of input on this one!
Welcome to the board and good luck!!

Hey you can buy my Scarab ! It's relatively fast and handles well (80.7) and it's about the same size as a 29 Fountain
Just kidding.
You can find used 26 and 29 Scarabs for half the price of the Fountain, Not that the Fountain isn't a nice boat but the extra money you can spend on go fast goodies!
I've been in quite a few 24-27 ft boats (haven't been in a Superboat or Warlock though) and the best riding one I've been in was a 25 Active Thunder, at 80mph that boat felt stable and solid.
There are really so many good choices it's going to be up cost and eye appeal.

I would also take a look at the 29 ft Kryponite. A buddy of mine has one with twin outboards. That thing flys and it handles very well. We took it in the AC poker run and ran ro a while(until they opened it up) with the outerlimits and big cigs. It did help that the owner/driver is a bit nutz. But the boat handled it very well and was very comfortable.
Good Luck

Sunsation 288 Intimidator, fast, solid, reasonably priced, and alot more cabin headroom than the Fountain. Look at both side by side, you will be impressed with the Sunsation, I was, bought one after years of thinking that I wanted a Fountain. Still happy with my purchase after 5 years!

A 26' Sonic with a 502 Mag & a Procharger runs 80-82+. It also has as much or more room than a 29' Fountain. Offshore Performance in MD has one as we speak. Sonic will also take the rough stuff, VERY WELL.
