Mark,
Thanks for reaching out. Our DriveGuardian Bravo works perfectly with the IMCO SCX and we have a number of customers running that combination. The most common issue when upgrading to the SCX is that the stock rubber coupler can't handle as much torque as the drive. The rubber eventually breaks down and fails. We have run our coupler behind 2,200HP without an issue.
Please let me know if you have any questions,
Mike

Not boat engine related but this was one of the highlights of my life. I have never put more effort into an engine package than this one. This is the 2013 engine write-up, in 2014 we came back with an even better package and a custom carbon-fiber intake manifold. The think with Engine Master's is the engine has to make huge average power and torque for a very broad powerband. Peak numbers are not that important. This essentially pump gas 428 cubic inch engine averaged 570hp and 600 ft/lbs from 3000-7000 rpm. This isn't easy when you read the fine print in the rule book either. If you read the story, look at the weird offset stud mount rocker arms that were used to skirt a rules issue. There were many, many things done to this engine that were similar.

The IGN1a's have a lot more oomph than an LS coil, however, it isn't really necessary for this build. I do get a pretty good buy on the IGN1a's though. Which LS coils do you have and what were you thinking?

I have a question, what can't be done with a distributor?
I understand that you are trying to reduce power by reducing timing if the throttle is closed in the upper rpm range.
IMO you need a gps mph vs rpm or a rate of rpm gain to control the torque of the engine.
There are a lot of stadigies that could work if the ecu is capable.
